Distribution of Anthopleura xanthogrammica in British Columbia in British Columbia

Introduction

The Giant Green Anemone is a low to mid intertidal species found in the Pacific Ocean (North-east Pacific) from Alaska to Southern California, and sometimes southwards (to Panama) (Cowles 2011, Wikipedia 2011). In BC, it is found along the coast. This is the largest species of green anemone and, with exposure to sunlight, this species can appear bright green as in the photo above (Racerocks 2011, Wkipedia 2011).
